New York Giants (8-3) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5)
The Giants are red-hot and winners of six straight games, but they still trail the Dallas Cowboys, who they face at home in their next game, by two games in the tough NFC East. Their defense has played well in the last few games and while New York has won six in a row five of the six games came against teams that currently have a losing record. Their passing offense is a good one, but their D is the reason they are winning and they rank 5th in the league giving up an average of 19.4 ppg.
The Steelers have gotten over their four-game skid by winning two in a row and they are tied with the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC North. They are a balanced team and while they have struggled on defense the last couple of season they have righted their ship in that department and rank 10th in opponents’ points allowed.
In their last games the Giants beat the Cleveland Browns 27-13 and the Steelers beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-7.
On the season the Giants are 6-4-1 ATS with an O/U record of 3-8 and the Steelers are 6-5 ATS with an O/U record of 3-8.
In the win over the Browns the Giants were outgained in yards and only had 296 total yards, but they forced three key turnovers and they stuffed the run. Eli Manning has been solid this season and while he only passed for 194 yards in the win over Cleveland he had three TD and 0 INT. He has a solid WR corps led by Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz and he needs to use these guys since New York ranks 2nd to last in the NFL in rushing yards per game.
Pittsburgh has been solid against the run this season ranking 8th in the league in that department, but they only rank 22nd in pass defense, which is a concern with Manning coming to town.

The Steelers held the Colts to 310 yards in their last game and on the offensive side of the ball they had balance with 221 passing yards and 148 rushing yards. Ben Roethlisberger had three TD and 0 INT in the game and he has not been picked off in his last three games. WR Antonio Brown caught all three of Big Ben’s TD passes in the Indianapolis game and he ranks 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards.
One of the main reasons the Steelers have won the last two games has been the play of RB Le’Veon Bell, who has rushed for 266 yards total in those games.
The Giants have a solid defense, but it is not a balanced one ranking 5th in the league against the run and 23rd against the pass.
New York at Pittsburgh Betting Trends
- The Giants are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, and in their last 5 road games the total has gone Under every time.
- The Steelers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win of more than 14 points, and they have an Under record of 23-9-1 in their last 33 games.
New York Giants at Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction
The Giants have won six straight, but who have they beaten? The last six opponents they have beaten have sub 500 records. The win over a team that didn’t fit that mold was a hard fought 27-23 victory over the Ravens who came into the game decimated with injuries on defense. The Steelers when healthy can play with the best of them and they are now destroying teams with limited offensive ability. The number is high, but justified.
