Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews named as NHL 16 cover athletes
Since 2011, EA Sports has revealed its cover athlete for the NHL videogame series at the NHL Awards. Changing things up for NHL 16, there will be two players on the cover for the first time in the game’s history.
From EA:
“I’m honored to not only share the Stanley Cup Championship with Patrick, but to share the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover with him too,” said Toews. “Our team’s passion and dedication have made this all possible – and I’m sure fans will be fired up about it.”
“Being teamed up with Jonathan for the NHL 16 cover is a great feeling,” said Kane. “I never would have imagined being on the cover twice, and the fact this is happening on top of our team taking home the Cup is unreal.”
EA did not hold a Twitter like they had for the past few years, thereby preventing all of your timelines from being spammed with various NHL player-related hashtags.
Kane and Toews are now two-time cover athletes, with the Chicago Blackhawks captain appearing on the cover of NHL 11 and the American star winger named as the NHL 10 cover boy.
