“We’re going to definitely send him to Triple-A on Monday,” Hoyer told MLB Network Radio. “That’s the move that makes sense for us right now.”
Schwarber was outstanding in his first start as a DH on Wednesday, going 4 for 5 with two RBI and three runs. He also had one triple.
However, the Cubs are adamant about Schwarber developing as a catcher and will do without his bat in the major-league lineup for now.
“That’s a position where you’re either all-in or all-out, and he’s all-in right now,” Hoyer said.
