Report: Investigation into Cardinals hack expected to end soon
baseball world is still trying to sort through the fallout of Tuesday’s news that the St. Louis Cardinals were being investigated by the FBI for allegedly hacking into the Houston Astros’ internal database, but it appears we won’t have to wait much longer for a resolution.
TheThe Houston Chronicle has the latest:
The investigation is expected to end soon, according to people familiar with the situation. One person briefed on the case said the suspects had been narrowed to a group of four to five individuals within the Cardinals organization.
Derrick Goold of the St. Lous Post-Dispatch adds that many members of the Cardinals’ front office have hired attorneys. The four to five individuals that have been identified by the FBI likely have links to the house in Jupiter, Fla., St. Louis’ spring training home, that was reported to be where the hack took place.

What remains to be seen is just how widespread awareness of the alleged act was within the organization and whether or not it was an orchestrated plan.
