Stanley Cup arrival at United Center delayed thanks to bad Chicago weather (Video)
The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup on Monday in Chicago. Players and fans were clearly and obviously pumped about this fact. But there was an odd question circulating in the building and on social media. Where was the Cup?
It apparently did not arrive at the time the game ended, thanks to bad weather in the Chicago area.
Tweeted the great Bob McKenzie:
And ESPN’s Pierre Lebrun:
Cup handler says they left their hotel on the outskirts of the city just after puck drop. Took them forever to get here

The above video was the Cup finally arriving in the bowels of the United Center. Could you imagine if NHL commissioner Gary Bettman had to tell 22,424 Chicago fans they had to wait to see the Cup on home ice – especially when these Jonathan Toews/Patrick Kane Hawks hadn’t won a Cup at home?
And think of Kimmo Timonen having to wait???
If there was a delay, it wasn’t noticeable. But the keepers of the Cup looked a little, uh, ruffled when they brought it into United Center. Just another Stanley Cup story.
