President Obama challenged the Nationals’ president mascots to a race
Barack Obama can’t run for re-election in 2016, so he’s found a different kind of presidential race he thinks he can win.
The president stopped by Nationals Park on Thursday as the annual Congressional Baseball Game that pits the Democrats and Republicans took place on the diamond. His primary objective was to try to persuade player from both teams to grant him trade promotion authority, but he did have time to attend to some other important business.
As he was leaving the stadium he just happened to run into the Nationals’ Running Presidents and Obama made sure they too got a sense of his competitive nature.

Boom. The gauntlet has been thrown! Watch out George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, William Howard Taft, Teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln – Obama is coming for you.
Washington, Jefferson, Taft, Roosevelt, and Lincoln might have experience on their side but the man currently calling the White House home isn’t one to back down.
On your marks, get set, go! This is a presidential race even Nate Silver would have trouble predicting.
