Woods makes self-aware joke about plenty of Memorial ‘reps’
Every now and then, Tiger Woods makes a funny in public. Sometimes, it’s at his own expense, like on Monday at Quicken Loans National media day.
Woods, who appeared via satellite for the event staged at 2015 host Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in northern Virginia, made a self-aware crack about his incessant discussion of needing “reps,” whether it’s when recovering from injuries or explaining away poor play amid a swing change.
Woods hosts the event, which he’s won twice since its 2007 inception, with his foundation the main charitable beneficiary. The date was changed this year to July 30-Aug. 2, pushing further away from what has been a typical date closer to Independence Day. For Woods, it’ll be the fourth of five events he has already committed to this summer, a docket that begins next week with the U.S. Open.
