The robot uprising could begin on a pitcher’s mound
In the past few days, baseball fans have been introduced to an ambidextrous pitcher and an amphibious pitcher. It’s reasonable to wonder what’s next.
Just as Super Baseball 2020 predicted, robots are the future of baseball. While the Exciting League and Fighting League won’t be established for another five years, we got a glimpse at what robot baseball might offer us Monday at the Chicago White Sox game.
[On this week’s StewPod: Who belongs in the baseball video-game Hall of Fame?]
Prior to the game, the first pitch was thrown out by a robot from the Museum of Science and Industry.
As expected, the pitch was thrown with exceptional accuracy.
Without a doubt, this is how the robot uprising begins. It starts with a cute display of a robot throwing out a first pitch. What happens when that robot becomes sentient and starts learning? There aren’t any humans playing baseball in Super Baseball 2020, and I think we all know why.

This is how it starts. The robots seem fun and innocent now, but they’ll enslave the entire human race and force us to watch them compete in our National Pastime. Super Baseball 2020 isn’t just a game, it’s a prophecy.
