Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte inspires the newspaper goof of the season
By now, baseball fans are familiar with the story of Pat Venditte, the switch-pitching reliever for the Oakland Athletics. Venditte made his MLB debut last Friday after a long tenure in the minors, pitching effectively with both arms against the Boston Red Sox.

There’s a word for being able to do something both right-handed and left-handed. That word is ambidextrous. This word below, seen in a headline from the East Oregonian newspaper, is not the same thing:
Amphibious, of course, means able to function in both land and water. Now you get the Aquaman joke!
We hope you’re laughing too, East Oregonian, because we all make typos, but they’re not usually this glorious. We’re also proud of our Yahoo Sports’ own Tim Brown, who foretold of this goof when Venditte was called up.
We now await Venditte’s first appearance against the Mariners or Marlins, so we can see his powers on full display.
