The Giants visited President Obama and Hunter Pence was the star
It’s impossible to hate San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence. The 32-year-old is willing to laugh at himself, and doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously.

Well, Pence made another fan Thursday when the team visited the White House as part of their World Series celebration. While addressing the team, President Obama made a reference to “Hunter Pence signs.”
The meme started at Citi Field, as Mets fans decided to create clever signs poking fun at Pence. Pence was a good sport about the whole thing, responding to those fans on Twitter.

Pence seemed somewhat surprised upon hearing the President invoke his name.
Obama has always been passionate about baseball, so it’s not a total surprise that he would be aware of the meme. Still, we can’t blame Pence for being caught off guard here.
Given the President’s knowledge of “Hunter Pence signs,” we would also like his thoughts on Bartolo Colon at the plate, how many batters it takes to bat around and whether he believes a hot dog is a sandwich.
Obama has yet to receive a visit from his team, the Chicago White Sox. That’s a shame, as it’s probably our only opportunity to hear the President bust out his best Hawk Harrelson impression.
