Indiana’s Kevin Wilson really hates Wake Forest for some reason
If you weren’t already excited for the big ACC-Big Ten matchup between Indiana and Wake Forest on Sept. 26, IU coach Kevin Wilson just raised the stakes.
Uh, what?
Wilson apparently made the comment when he was running through the Hoosiers’ 2015 schedule at a fan event, but it still seems completely random to call out a bottom tier ACC opponent the Hoosiers have never played. Ever.
Wilson doesn’t really have the track record needed for that type of brashness either. In four seasons at Indiana, Wilson is 14-34 with a 6-26 Big Ten record. But I guess if there’s one opponent to be confident about facing, it’s a program that hasn’t had a winning record since 2008.
Wilson is a North Carolina native who was an offensive lineman for the Tar Heels in the early 80’s, so maybe that’s where the animosity for the Demon Deacons comes from? Who knows.
Forget the first slew of SEC and Pac-12 matchups played that weekend. Now it’s all about Indiana-Wake Forest!
