Hammerin' Hank's Belmont Stakes picks: Favorite Pharoah will be denied – CBSSports.com
While American Pharoah is the odds-on favorite to win this Saturday’s Belmont Stakes and complete the first Triple Crown since 1978, Hank Goldberg does not see that happening. American Pharoah claiming the Preakness crown was not as surprising as it would be for him to take Saturday’s race because of the track conditions in Baltimore.
Instead, Hammerin’ Hank likes Frosted (5-1) to take the crown at the Belmont on Saturday with Keen Ice (20-1) and American Pharoah (3-5) in his exacta box. Frosted will take the crown because he can come from off the pace and turn the home stretch into a speed duel with American Pharoah.
Frosted finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby and won the Wood Memorial just before that.
