Did Chicago’s Andrew Shaw bite Tampa’s Victor Hedman in Game 1? (Video)
Andrew Shaw is Chicago’s ‘old time hockey’ type player. Jumping, flying punches, heading pucks into the goal – dude plays fast and loose with the rules all over the ice.
So it’s not exactly a surprise Shaw was accused of clenching his teeth upon the Lightning’s Victor Hedman at some point in Chicago’s 2-1 Game 1 Stanley Cup Final win over Tampa.
In the above video, you can see Hedman mouth the words “he bit me” on the bench after the scrum.
“It felt like it. I have a little bruise, so maybe,” Hedman said after the game.
Is the video conclusive? Does this merit anything? Did Shaw get his rabies shot before the game? Is Mike Tyson a secret assistant coach of the Blackhawks?
This isn’t exactly as overt as Alex Burrows biting Patrice Bergeron in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. That was pretty obvious when it happened. SB Nation actually compiled a history of biting offenses in the NHL from a few years ago.
