Disney, NBA announce 'experience' at Fla. park

Disney has struck a deal to include the NBA in its expanded Disney Springs project, the two announced Wednesday.
No specifics about the NBA Experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida have been made public yet, but the area promises to provide an immersive experience of the game and its players and also will include an NBA-themed restaurant and retail store.
“We look forward to uniting the passionate, global fan bases of the NBA and our longtime partner, Disney,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. “Working with the world’s top creator and operator of themed entertainment attractions, we can’t wait to bring the magic of Disney and the excitement of the NBA to guests from around the world.”
In a statement, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger said the company is “thrilled to work with the NBA to take our guests inside the world of professional basketball with an extraordinary entertainment experience.”
Disney, which owns ABC and ESPN, already has a deal to broadcast NBA games through the 2024-25 season.
Disney Springs represents the largest expansion of Downtown Disney in company history, as the number of retail locations will more than double to over 150 by the time it is completed next year.
