Orioles’ Jimmy Paredes out of lineup Monday vs. Astros
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:55 pm ET) Orioles designated hitter Jimmy Paredes is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Astros.
The Orioles are using outfielder Adam Jones as the team’s designated hitter on Monday as he recovers from a mild ankle sprain, and rather than have Paredes at second base as they did during a recent three-game series in Miami, he’ll get a breather for the first time since April 21. He has hit .314/.345/.513 with six home runs and 25 RBI in 156 at-bats.
The Orioles are underdogs (+100) in Houston on Monday, per VegasInsider.com.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:47 pm ET) The Rangers have placed third baseman Adrian Beltre on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb, the team announced.

With Beltre sidelined, the Rangers are calling up top prospect Joey Gallo in advance of Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.
