Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to debut funnel cake cheeseburger
As a whole, minor league baseball continues setting a very high standard when it comes to unique ballpark promotions. But let us not overlook another area of strength for many of its clubs: The concession stand menu.
Somewhere below the standard baseball items, you’re bound to find a few creative and ridiculously appealing items that wlll test your will and lighten your wallet. For example, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers — the Midwest League Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers — and team chef Tim Hansen unveiled a pair of new burgers this week that will instantly make you consider a trip to Appleton.
First, we have all the makings of a delicious bacon cheeseburger packed inside a funnel cake bun, which naturally gives us the Big Mother Funnel Burger.
Don’t try saying that ten times fast, but do order it at least once if you’re headed to a Timber Rattlers game this spring. It’ll only set you back $20.
By the way, in writing about the Timber Rattlers funnel cake bacon cheeseburger, the Washington Post makes mention of another such burger that recently appeared at the Florida State Fair. So fine, it’s not an original idea, but based on the pictures we found there’s absolutely no comparison between the two.
Chef Hansen gets the win by a wide margin.
Like we said though, there’s more. It addition to the one-of-a-kind Big Mother Funnel Burger, Hansen also unveiled this beauty.
Your eyes do not deceive you. That’s two grilled cheese sandwiches serving as bread for a full-sized bacon cheeseburger, which equals one enormous sandwich.
Honestly, it almost looks too good to eat. You can practically taste it just by looking at it anyway, and you don’t want to touch it for fear of ruining its perfection. That really applies to both sandwiches, but one can’t stare forever. When it’s time to eat, it’s time to eat. Our only advice though might be to split these sandwiches with a couple friends or your family. Yeah, we know the challenge is tempting, but you’ll thank us 30 years from now.
