Bridgeport and Hershey line brawl in fight-filled game (Video)
A mega-line brawl in the AHL? Sure, why not.
So there were a ton of penalties (192 minutes total) levied in the Bridgeport Sound Tigers’ game against the Hershey Bears on Saturday.
The game ended up being a 4-3 win by Hershey – with both goalies being booted as part of nine game misconducts. You have to feel bad for the officials. They looked just completely helpless with players just pushing them away.
Check out the video:
And the boxscore.
When you have just three officials on an ice full of emotionally charged dudes, this happens.
According to Hockey Fights, Sound Tigers goaltender Kevin Poulin had one fight prior to this, in junior in 2006-07 with Ben MacFarlane. Pheonix Copley is not listed on the website.
The great part about this fight is that it’s not in some pseudo-pro league where violence is encouraged. It at least means the tempers were real. The worst part? The goalie element of it ended up being pretty lame, which is annoying because that’s always the best part of line brawls.
