Brutal Talbot turnover leads to Tavares goal
New York Rangers goalie Cam Talbot has never been credited with an assist at the NHL level.
Unfortunately for him, this play on Monday night is probably as close as he has come so far in his career.
That happened just 11 seconds into the Rangers’ game against the New York Islanders. As Talbot attempted to make a play with the puck behind his own net, his pass ended up going directly to the worst possible player he could have given it to — Islanders forward John Tavares.
Tavares wasted no time and one-timed the errant pass directly into the open net for his 27th goal of the season.
