Prized DE Jefferson officially signs with Florida
The drama is over.
As CeCe Jefferson promised, the five-star defensive end has delivered his signed letter of intent to Florida and will play for coach Jim McElwain, the Gators officially announced Monday. Jefferson’s father said Sunday the letter would arrive shortly.
From Jefferson’s much-followed-of-late Twitter feed:

Jefferson announced on national television last Wednesday he would be signing with the Gators and initially said his letter would be faxed in the following morning. But with Gators defensive line coach Terrell Williams leaving the program and Jefferson’s father, Leo Jefferson, expressing second thoughts about his son’s decision, the wait for the Jeffersons to make it official stretched into this week.
With Chris Rumph officially in place as the Gators’ new line coach and Leo apparently satisfied after a discussion with defensive coordinator Geoff Collins, however, Jefferson’s letter arriving seemd only a matter of time; the Glen St. Mary, Fla., native has been adamant on his Twitter feed he would sign with Florida when all is said and done.
The 247Sports composite ranked Jefferson the No. 2 defensive end in the class of 2015 and the No. 7 player overall.
From McElwain’s Twitter feed:
Want to officially welcome @cecejeferson7 to the Gator Family! #ChompChomp
