Pelicans’ Davis (shoulder sprain) out vs. Jazz

Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis will sit Monday night against the Utah Jazz with a right shoulder sprain, according to the team.
Davis was injured on a hard fall in which he struggled to brace himself after an alley-oop dunk late in the first half of Saturday night’s 107-72 loss to the Chicago Bulls, and he did not return. He is listed as day-to-day.
Davis’ arm was tucked in a sling after the loss. X-rays were negative.
The dunk that drove Davis from the game was a two-handed jam off of Tyreke Evans‘ lob. Davis’ body swung like a pendulum as he held the rum, then the 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward fell horizontally as he lost his grip.
Davis stayed in the game briefly before taking himself out with the score tied at 35 and 4:16 left in the first half.
