Jeb Burton to drive for BK Racing in 2015
Jeb Burton has a Sprint Cup Series ride.
The 22-year-old son of Ward Burton will drive the No. 26 for BK Racing in 2015.
“We are very lucky to have a great, young talented driver like Jeb Burton in one of our NASCAR Sprint Cup cars,” BK Racing co-owner Anthony Marlowe told Motorsport.com. “It was important for us to find full-time anchor drivers for this season that are experienced and team-oriented.
“Jeb’s success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series along with his family’s history in the sport makes his emergence into Cup a great story. The story, which also includes having a strong shot at winning Sunoco Rookie of the Year in 2015, has already proven to be very marketable. I look forward to seeing Jeb behind the wheel of the No. 26 Toyota Camry very soon. I think he is going to do great in the Daytona 500.”
Burton drove for ThorSport Racing in 2014 but announced in January that he wouldn’t be competing in the Truck Series in 2015 for the team after details couldn’t be worked out. In 2013, he drove for Turner Scott Motorsports full-time in the Truck Series. He also has two Xfinity Series starts.
In 47 career Truck Series races he has seven top-five finishes and 19 top 10s. He won in 2013 at Texas Motor Speedway in the spring.
Burton will be teammates with JJ Yeley at BK Racing. Yeley is driving the team’s No. 23 car and former Truck Series champion Johnny Sauter will attempt the Daytona 500 in a third car for BK.
