Giants introduce black alternate home jersey
The San Francisco Giants even and odd season teeter totter has been well documented since around 2012. As it goes, in the last three even-numbered seasons, San Francisco has held large parades celebrating World Series championships. Meanwhile, over the past three odd-numbered seasons, San Francisco has missed the postseason completely despite having most of the same core players in place.
It’s something of baseball oddity, but the Giants might have the right idea to fight against that trend during the 2015 season. They’re going to the dark side.
The Giants new #FadetoBlack alternate jersey was unveiled in that tweet on Friday, but was formally introduced to rave reviews at the team’s fan fest over the weekend.
As Michael Clair of Cut 4 points out, the jersey is a black version of the Giants 1980 throwbacks, which were reintroduced to the rotation in 2012. It will be one of five different Giants jerseys to be used in 2015.

Part-time model and full-time second base sensation Joe Panik gives us a preview. As they always say, when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, your batting average is likely to rise by about 20 points.
OK, so maybe the last part isn’t true, but there’s no doubt the Giants will be looking good — whether it’s the classic or alternate look — as they attempt to hold off challenges from the Dodgers, Nationals, Cardinals and perhaps even the Padres.
