The North Carolina Tar Heels head into the Georgia Dome on Saturday, Sept 3 to take on the Bulldogs in their home opener of the college football season. The Tar Heels had a successful run last season completing it with a loss to Clemson in the ACC Championship. North Carolina had an incredible offensive game last year averaging 262.2 yards per game through the air and 224.7 yards per game on the ground. The change up to QB Mitch Trubisky from last year’s Marquise Williams should be a smooth transition as Tubisky managed an impressive 85.1 completion rating with his 555 yards and 6 touchdown passes. Starting RB Elijah Hood will return to the squad to lead the ground game after last season’s impressive 218 carries for 1463 yards and an unprecedented 17 touchdowns. If North Carolina has any weakness it is their less than impressive run defense who managed to give up 247.8 yards per game.
The Georgia Bulldogs also another success story managed a 10-3 record last season and made it to the TaxSlayer bowl where they recorded a win over Penn State but didn’t manage to cover the point spread. Georgia’s running game was successful last year posting 190.4 yards per game but had difficulty at the passing game only averaging 185.1 yards per game. QB Greyson Lambert will return to lead the team after an impressive 1959 yards and a 12 touchdowns. RB Nick Chubb will return this season stepping into the lead position after he posted 747 yards and 7 touchdowns on 92 carries. Georgia should excel again this year in the pass defense position after holding opponents to only 156.5 yards per game and an impressive rush defense who only gave up 149 YPG.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Georgia Bulldogs Free Pick
The Tar Heels need to prove that they can stop the run and that may be a tough task against the Bulldogs in what will appear like a home game for Georgia. The QB change for the Tar Heels may be for the better as Trubisky has wheels and may be the better passer an no one could stop the UNC offense last season.
