The good, the bad and the ugly of the 2016 Rio Olympics
The Rio Olympics are officially over with IOC President Thomas Bach declaring the Games of the 31st Olympiad finished at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday night.
Despite concerns about the water, the Zika virus and Rio’s ability to securely keep athletes safe, the Summer Games largely went off without a major hitch. The biggest scandal of the Olympics was the “over-exaggerated” storytelling of United States swimmer Ryan Lochte, who painted Rio in a negative light only to be proven false.

The amazing accomplishments of Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, Usain Bolt and so many other of the world’s greatest athletes mostly overshadowed the negative stories, although there were still some unfortunate moments.
