LOOK: Cristiano Ronaldo sends shoutout to Usain Bolt for Olympic domination
Not many athletes in the world have had a better year than Cristiano Ronaldo. After all, the superstar won the Champions League with Real Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.
But at the Olympics, we have seen some dominant performances, especially from swimmer Michael Phelps and sprinter Usain Bolt. The latter, a big soccer fan, received quite the praise from Ronaldo on Saturday for winning three gold medals at Rio.
Just a day before Real Madrid opens up its La Liga campaign at Real Sociedad, Ronaldo took to social to send a message to Bolt who won gold in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4 x 100-meter relay. Take a look:
Great to see athletes, especially one from the most popular sport in the world, show some love to a sport that doesn’t get nearly enough recognition as it deserves, especially outside of the Olympics.
But the message shouldn’t come as a surprise. Bolt, a Manchester United fan who met Ronaldo when he played in England, also likes Real Madrid.
