WATCH: Darrelle Revis picks off preseason starter Colt McCoy in end zone
Colt McCoy and the Redskins offense got off to a fast start Friday night against the Jets. The backup quarterback, who stared for Kirk Cousins, completed his first seven passes for 66 yards.
But then, he heaved an ill-advised throw into the end zone — and the hands of veteran Darrelle Revis.
Facing 3rd-and-goal, McCoy rolled right before throwing off his back foot in the face of pressure. The ball sailed, and Revis undercut the receiver and stretched for the interception. Two plays before, McCoy found Jamison Crowder on a 7-yard touchdown pass that was called back because of offensive pass interference.

This should also officially put to rest any conversation about moving the 31-year-old Revis to safety. It ain’t happening.
Meanwhile, Cousins, like many franchise quarterbacks around the league this time of year, won’t see the field, presumably in an effort to: a) keep him healthy, and b) let the other quarterbacks on the roster get some reps.
