Tom Brady cuts right hand with scissors, sent home after injury
Who knew that a kicker suffering a concussion after getting hit by a stray punt would be the second-weirdest pregame injury on Thursday night?
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady reportedly cut his right thumb after trying to use a pair of scissors to pry something loose from his cleats before a preseason game in Foxboro against the Chicago Bears, which was first reported by CSN New England’s Tom Curran.

What, no safety scissors, Tom? Where are Jim McNally and John Jastremski when you need them?
According to the report, it is not known how serious the injury was or whether Brady required stitches. Brady was seen walking toward the players’ parking lot before kickoff and reportedly was sent home.
Is that exactly what happened? Who knows? But in this Ryan Lochte-dominated news cycle, you can be sure that people will be digging deep to find out the whole story … if there is more to it.
Brady was expected to start but was not on the field when the Patriots started warmups. Jimmy Garoppolo, who will replace Brady for the first four games of the season while he’s suspended for the deflate-gate ruling, started against the Bears.
