Iowa State lineman Jake Campos out 'indefinitely'
Iowa State’s most experienced offensive lineman is out indefinitely.
Cyclones coach Matt Campbell announced Monday that tackle Jake Campos injured his leg Sunday. The program did not offer a timetable on his possible return, but The Ames Tribune is reporting that Campos has a broken leg and could miss the entire season.

Campos, a junior, is the only returning starter for ISU. He has started 23 games over the past two seasons at both tackle spots. Only one other lineman, Nick Fett, has ever started a game at Iowa State. Fett, a senior, started one game last year against Oklahoma State. The Cyclones also brought in Brian Bobek as a graduate transfer. Bobek began his career at Ohio State before transferring to Minnesota, where he made five starts at center in 2015.
According to the Tribune, Campbell, at Big 12 media days, pointed to juniors Jaypee Philbert and Shawn Curtis as other tackles in the mix to start.
