Golfer who claimed he was kidnapped last year arrested after at John Deere Classic
It happened again. Robert Allenby is in the news for all the wrong reasons. Allenby, who is currently No. 237 in the FedEx Cup standings and has made just two of 21 cuts this season, was arrested this week after missing the cut at the John Deere Classic.
Here is WQAD with the details of Allenby’s adventures in the Quad Cities.
Roberty Allenby, from Australia, was arrested outside of Jumer’s Casino around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, after Day 2 of the tournament. Arrest reports from the Rock Island Police Department show that Allenby was booked into the Rock Island County Jail shortly after 4 a.m., charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
So that’s not great news for Allenby. Although, to be fair, there are not that many great things that happen outside casinos at 2:30 a.m.
Allenby, of course, was the victim (so to speak) of a bizarre kidnapping incident in Hawaii last year during the Sony Open. Then he fired his caddie mid-round at the Canadian Open later that same year. It’s been a pretty wild last 18 months for the Australian. Hopefully this story has a more palatable ending than the other ones.
