'New York Post' misses the mark with headline on A-Rod's farewell
The New York Post has a thing where it goes above and beyond anything a reasonable person would do with headlines. A lot of the time, people might say they crossed a line. This time it looks like they threw up on the line and trampled all over it.
In light of there being a storm during the pregame ceremony honoring Alex Rodriguez, here’s what the editing team saw fit to print:
Hmm … let’s see.
A-Rod has two daughters who very obviously love him, got to play baseball — his passion — for 22 years and will have banked roughly $400 million in the process of having done so by the end of next season. He’s won a World Series and three MVPs. He was one of the most physically blessed athletes in the history of the sport. By all accounts, he seems happy and healthy, too.
But a storm during a ceremony means God hates him. Flawless logic as always, Post editors.
