U.S. women's water polo coach leaves team after death in family
Adam Krikorian, the coach of the U.S. women’s water polo team, has left Rio after the death of one of his brothers.
Blake Krikorian was just 48 when he died on Wednesday. He reportedly had a heart attack while surfing in California. He was a well-known tech entrepreneur and investor. Blake Krikorian and another brother, Jason, created Sling Media in 2004, which gave us the Slingbox device.
Adam Krikorian has been coach of the U.S. Women’s team since 2009, and the team has enjoyed great success under his tutelage, including the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics.
NBC reported on Saturday morning that Adam Krikorian is expected to rejoin the team in Rio in time for its Olympic opener against Spain on Tuesday.
