Enes Kanter celebrates Westbrook extension by trolling Lakers fans
Despite striking out in free agency for the fourth straight summer, the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly thought they had a shot at signing Russell Westbrook after this season. As we learned Wednesday night, though, Westbrook wasn’t interested in hitting the market come July, electing to re-up with the Oklahoma City Thunder on a three-year, $85 million-plus contract extension that promises to make OKC an exceptionally exciting watch next season.

Thunder center and noted Westbrook backer Enes Kanter was very pleased to learn of Russ’ return … and, as it turned out, very excited to rub it in the faces of Lakers fans by hitting them with the Crying Jordan meme:
Stop refreshing the page Lol
it's true ???????? pic.twitter.com/WxyZUHImWN— Enes Kanter (@Enes_Kanter) August 4, 2016
Lakers fans, as is their wont, responded in full throat with a host of entreaties to count the ringzzzzzz, and a fun Internet time was had by all.
Kanter, who has really come into his own as a premier 140-character agitator after Kevin Durant decided to leave OKC and join the Golden State Warriors, then took the opportunity to use Westbrook’s extension as an opportunity to further zing KD, using his own Players Tribune sayonara against him:
I ain't gonna join the enemy
I'm here to compete pic.twitter.com/2Elu93b4P5— Enes Kanter (@Enes_Kanter) August 4, 2016
How the Thunder will fare on the court next year remains to be seen, but this much seems clear: Enes Kanter really likes using Photoshopped memes on Twitter, and he’s likely to be both much more popular in Oklahoma City next season and much less popular among virtually every other fan base by summer’s end.
