Yahoo Sports’ MLB Free Game of the Day has contenders galore in August

Now that we’re in August, teams across Major League Baseball are jockeying for position. They’ve made their trades. They’re starting to call up their top prospects. They’re trying to everything to line up for the postseason.

Here’s some good news: You can watch them play for free, all month, right here on Yahoo Sports. Our MLB Free Game of the Day schedule for August features all the contenders, with the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers among them.

The schedule for the month is below. You can watch these games in a number of places, starting with the Yahoo Sports app. You can also find them on the Yahoo’s Sports Home, MLB index and video home, plus our daily posts right here on Big League Stew. Local blackouts apply, per MLB rules.

A few highlights to jot on your calendar:

• The Dodgers and Red Sox meet on Aug. 7, which should be a great matchup of two teams trying to climb into first place.

• Watch the Cubs play both their NL Central rivals — the Cardinals on Aug. 11 and the Pirates at Aug. 30.

• We get back-to-back interleague games between contenders and regional rivals on Aug. 22 and 23 when the Orioles host the Nats.

All games are subject to MLB’s local blackout restrictions. The schedule is subject to change.
