Wednesday brings unfortunately about the slowest night in hockey there is. With just two games, the fantasy options will be very limited. Of course, there will still be contests on DraftKings if you choose to participate. Some fantasy players shy away from participating when there are so few games, but its still possible to be successful, it is just more of a challenge.
The thing that makes playing daily fantasy with just two games is the fact that most guys you select will have a high ownership number. You don’t want to shy away from those top players because you don’t want to be one of the few to miss out on the points, but you also do not want to put together a full team of players with ownership percentages of 80 percent or higher.
Diamonds in the rough are hard to find sometimes in hockey, but they are out there. That will be your key to success tonight.
As for the games, it’s an Eastern Conference affair tonight with Ottawa visiting Washington at 7:00 p.m. and Pittsburgh going to Boston at 8:00 p.m.
The Capitals have a two-game winning streak and now sit just two points behind the Dallas Stars for the top spot in the NHL. Pittsburgh currently sits just one spot out of the coveted eight position in the East and would move into it with a victory tonight.
Although the action on the ice is limited, the fun and excitement of fantasy hockey tonight won’t be.
When referencing average points and salaries, all numbers come from DraftKings. All scoring references refer to the DraftKings scoring rules.
