Veteran PG Miller agrees to deal with Wolves
MINNEAPOLIS — Andre Miller’s agent tells The Associated Press his client has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Wolves hosted Miller for a visit to the team’s facility on Wednesday. A few hours later, he reached agreement, agent Andy Miller says. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
With Ricky Rubio coming off of ankle surgery and rookie Tyus Jones as the backup, the Timberwolves had a need for an experienced point guard who could play at the end of games and step in in case of an injury.
The 39-year-old Miller will be playing his 17th season in the league. He has averaged 12.8 points and 6.7 assists in his career and has long been considered one of the smartest players at his position.
He spent last year with Washington and Sacramento.
