Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero told the club’s official website: “We all know Filipe Luis. We strengthen ourselves with one of the most talented wingers in the world. He already knows our club and our way of playing so he will adapt quickly.”
Luis, 29, is reported to have cost Chelsea £15.8 million when he arrived last year and returns to the Vicente Calderon for a reported €16m (£11.1m).

The Brazil international won the Premier League and Capital One Cup at Chelsea but had struggled to force his way into the first-team.
He made just 15 appearances in the league and five in the Champions League as Jose Mourinho preferred Spain international Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.
Chelsea said on their official website: “We wish him all the best for the future.”
