Today, I’m “stacking” the San Francisco Giants. Jason Spry of Daily Fantasy Sports 101 defines stacking as, “the practice of drafting multiple players from a single team.”
But why “stack?”
The thought process behind the strategy is relatively simple. Pick a team that you think will score a lot of runs and select up to six players on that roster. (DraftKings.com doesn’t allow you to have more than six offensive players from a single team.)
While baseball is largely an individual sport, players are extremely dependent on their teammates to accumulate statistics. If a player reaches base on a walk, chances are a teammate will have to help out for that player to eventually cross home plate.
If the team you stacked puts up a few crooked numbered innings, you might just vault to the top of a Guaranteed Prize Pool.

Why the Giants?
San Francisco is a place where home runs go to die. This season, per ESPN.com’s park factor tracking, AT&T Park has seen the smallest percentage of long balls in the league. That’s not ideal for our daily stack.
However, the Giants are slapping base hits and manufacturing a ton of offense despite doing what chicks dig. According to FanGraphs.com, San Francisco is third in the league in on-base percentage, fourth in weighted runs created and sixth in total runs scored.
Most importantly, Monday night they square off against veteran right-hander Kyle Lohse and his robust 6.29 ERA.

Per FanGraphs.com, over the past three seasons, Buster Posey, Matt Duffy, Joe Panik, Hunter Pence and Angel Pagan are hitting over .275 against righties.
But the best part about stacking the Giants? They’re cheap. No player costs more than $5,000 and most of them are right around the $3,500 range. That allows for some splurging on top-level pitching talent.

According to numberFire.com, Lance Lynn and Kyle Hendricks are projected to outscore all other pitchers Monday night. But if you’re looking for an inexpensive replacement, Kevin Gausman of the Baltimore Orioles has an opportunity to quadruple his value. It’s a more dangerous play, but it could pay off big in a guaranteed prize pool.
