MLB’s trade deadline is approaching and, for many teams, the difference between playing in October and sitting at home could very well be making the right move in the next 10 days.

This year’s trade deadline — it’s July 31, as usual — should prove particularly fascinating. There are many teams that are still contenders and need help, including surprise teams like the Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins. Likewise, there are a few expected contenders who could turn into sellers. Ain’t that right, Detroit Tigers?
