ACC apologizes for profane statement in media guide
The ACC apologized Monday afternoon for a profane statement appearing in the 2015 football media guide.
The statement, which we won’t embed here because we’re a family website and safe for work, is visible at this link here. The first word of the statement started with an “f” and the third word started with an “s.” It doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what the statement was.
It appeared at the bottom of the game-by-game recaps for each team and immediately after Wake Forest’s 2014 results. You can imagine the jokes about how appropriate the statement was for the Demon Deacons. Especially in the Deacons’ 6-3 double-overtime win over Wake Forest. The game was 0-0 heading into overtime.
Wake Forest was 3-9 in 2014.
According to the AP, the ACC has updated all of its online media guides and pulled all of the undistributed copies of the media guides available at ACC Media Days. While no explanation has been given for the mistake, no matter whether its appearance was an accident or a joke, it’s simply an editing oversight.
