Cycling-Froome enjoys quiet day, Majka wins stage (Reuters)
(Adds details, quotes) By Julien Pretot CAUTERETS, France, July 15 (Reuters) – Chris Froome enjoyed a safe day in the saddle on Wednesday, retaining the overall leader’s yellow jersey after his rivals failed to attack him on the 11th stage, a 188-km Pyrenean trek won by Pole Rafal Majka. Majka, who last year won the polka dot jersey for the mountains classification, powered away from the group of breakaway riders in the climb up the col du Tourmalet and never looked back. The Tinkoff-Saxo rider beat Ireland’s Dan Martin (Cannondale-Garmin) by one minute and German Emanuel Buchmann (Bora Argon) by 1:23.
