Randy Moss on Tom Brady: ‘If he did it, so what?’
As we wait for Roger Goodell’s decision on Tom Brady’s deflate-gate appeal — coming soon! — one of the legends of the game stepped forward to defend Brady.
Randy Moss isn’t exactly impartial. He played with Brady on the New England Patriots, including during a magical 2007 season. But his reaction to the whole controversy, which included a four-game suspension for Brady, sounded reasonable.
“Over some air?” Moss said, according to the Fayetteville Observer. “If he did it, so what? He hasn’t shown me anything but how he carries himself as a professional man, husband, father and athlete.
“Tom Brady is a pro’s pro. I love the man and everything he’s accomplished.”
Some have decided this is the worst transgression that the NFL has seen, mostly because it involves the Patriots and the NFL turned it into a circus, even while other issues like a team tanking a game to get the first pick get no attention at all. Others wonder what the big deal is. Put Moss in that group.

Moss, one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, made the remarks about Brady before his football camp. Again, he’s not impartial. But, Goodell isn’t impartial in ruling on the NFL’s punishment, but he’s doing so anyway.
“I’ve always stood in Tom’s corner,” Moss said. “I called myself a professional but that man was definitely a letter grade above me.”
