Mike Trout hits a home run to lead off MLB All-Star game
So that Mike Trout guy, he’s pretty good at baseball. And he proved it right away in the 2015 MLB All-Star game.
Trout, the reigning All-Star game MVP and AL MVP, led off Tuesday night’s game by hitting a line drive homer over the right-field wall at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark. It was the sixth lead-off homer in All-Star history, the first since Bo Jackson in 1989, and somewhat unlikely, considering NL starter Zack Greinke hadn’t given up a run in his previous 35.2 innings pitched in the regular season.

Speaking of unlikely things, enjoy this Trout fact from our boy Jeff Passan:
Fortunately for Greinke’s scoreless streak, the Trout homer doesn’t count toward the regular season. Unfortunately for pitchers everywhere, Trout is just 23 and will be hitting bombs like this for years.
