Who will win the Home Run Derby and All-Star game? Here are our predictions
Predicting what’s going to happen at the MLB All-Star game and Home Run Derby might actually be tougher than predicting what’s going to happen in the regular season. Players get a limited window to make an impression in the game, so one well-timed hit could lead to an MVP award. And the Home Run Derby often comes down to getting hot at the right time.

We’re not afraid to throw out some predictions, though. So we gathered up the Yahoo Sports MLB crew to weigh in on what we think will transpire in Cincinnati the next two days — everything from the derby finalists and Chris Berman’s geographical references to breakout performers and, of course, Pete Rose.
The derby (if rain allows) starts at 8 p.m. ET Monday, with TV coverage on ESPN. The All-Star game starts at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday. It’s televised on Fox.
In case you don’t recognize all the faces:
• Derby winners: Prince Fielder, Fielder, Kris Bryant, Todd Frazier, Bryant, Bryant.
• Longest homers: Joc Pederson, Josh Donaldson, Fielder, Pederson, Pederson, Pederson.
• All-Star MVPs: Anthony Rizzo, Bryce Harper, Harper, Andrew McCutchen, Fielder, Mike Trout.
• Breakout performers: Nolan Arenado, Brock Holt, Pederson, Carlos Martinez, Harper, Arenado.
