Former Auburn DE Elijah Daniel to play for Bo Pelini at Youngstown State
has found a new home with FCS Youngstown State.
Former Auburn defensive end Elijah DanielDaniel was kicked off the Auburn football team on May 2 after he was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary and four counts of theft for his role in 10 robberies inside a residence hall on the Auburn campus.
Former walk-on linebacker DeNorris James and former track walk-on Khalil Sellers also were arrested and face five charges of burglary and theft. All three cases were sent to the grand jury last Wednesday.
Daniel, a sophomore last season, had 15 tackles and one sack last season. He also with the co-leader with 17 quarterback hurries. He was a defensive end last season, but added 19 pounds in the offseason to try and contribute at defensive tackle.
Daniel was going to compete with DeVonte Lambert and Byron Cowart for a starting role.
Daniel will play for former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini, who took the Youngstown State job after he was fired from Nebraska.
