Sterling in squad for Asia tour
Liverpool have included Raheem Sterling in the squad to travel for the preseason tour of Asia, but there is no place for Fabio Borini or Jose Enrique.
Mario Balotelli is also omitted, but the Italy international was recently given compassionate leave to miss Liverpool’s first days of preseason training following the death of his adoptive father.

Sterling, a transfer target for Manchester City, missed training on Wednesday and Thursday, citing illness, but he reported back on Friday.
The England international had previously indicated to the club that he was unwilling to join the preseason tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, according to ESPN FC sources, but he now appears to have agreed to join the rest of the squad.
Borini and Enrique, along with Balotelli, are due to continue their preseason preparations at Melwood, raising questions over their futures with the club.
Also absent from the squad are Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can and new signing Roberto Firmino, who have been given additional time off after international duty over the summer.
Liverpool are due to fly to Bangkok on Sunday ahead of their first friendly against a Thai All Stars side next Tuesday.
Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
