Titans QB Zach Mettenberger re-opens J.J. Watt feud (Video)
Before his first NFL start against the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger posted a few selfies. Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt did not take too kindly to the rookie’s social media activity, and promptly mocked him with a selfie celebration after sacking Mettenberger during Houston’s 30-16 win.

“This is the National Football League, not high school,” Watt said after the game. “So welcome to the show.”
After that warm welcome to the league, we assumed Mettenberger would keep Watt’s name out of his mouth moving forward. We were wrong.
Mettenberger was asked about Watt’s “high school” comment an interview with CampusSports.com and opted to re-open the back-and-forth between the two.
“J.J. had to say that it was a bit high school-ish to take selfies, and I think he still rags me on Instagram every time he posts a selfie,” Mettenberger said. “At the same time, if that’s high school-ish, he got a letterman’s jacket made – a Texans letterman’s jacket – that’s pretty high school-ish to me, don’t you say?”
Mettenberger is referring to the letterman jackets the Texans wore in December 2012. Watt apparently heard him loud and clear.
The Titans and Texans don’t meet until Nov. 1 in Houston and Mettenberger will likely be able to avoid the wrath of Watt as the backup behind No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota. But if Mariota gets injured, Mettenberger could be in for some trouble.
