Hornets' Hairston cited for traffic violations
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Mecklenburg County Police records indicate Hornets guard P.J. Hairston was cited June 18 for driving with a revoked license and expired tags, speeding and driving left of the center line.
A court date is set for July 27.
Records state that Hairston was traveling 51 mph in a 35 mph zone in Charlotte when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line.
The Hornets had no comment on the situation.
It’s the third straight summer that Hairston, 22, has had legal troubles.
He was arrested in 2013 for misdemeanor marijuana possession and driving without a license. Those charges were dismissed when he provided proof of license and completed a drug assessment course.
Last summer he was charged with misdemeanor assault at a pickup basketball game in Durham, North Carolina. Charges were later dismissed.
