Fear not, redheads, Vin Scully says you’re not going extinct
Is there anything Vin Scully can’t do? On top of being a fantastic baseball announcer, he’s also, apparently, an expert on redheads. That makes sense, we guess, Scully used to rock the red hair.
Redheads make up just 1-2 percent of the population, so it’s important that they support each other. That’s what happened during a recent Los Angeles Dodgers promotion. Justin Turner was tasked with finding a redheaded child to throw out the first pitch.
While describing the event, Scully decided to drop some harrowing news about redheads.
The whole conversation gets pretty morose. After telling the world that redheads will be extinct soon, Scully reminds us how close he is to death. As far as we’re concerned, Vin Scully will never die, and he should never remind us of his own mortality.
Turns out, however, that Scully may have received some bad information. A few days later, he issued a correction to his initial statement.
You’re going to be OK, redheads. Vin Scully made sure of it!
We love the idea of Scully hearing a dubious rumor, and then personally researching whether it’s true online. That’s not exactly how it went down, but that’s how we wanted it to go down in our minds.

When he’s not announcing games, Vin Scully is an internet detective and redhead expert. If a network wanted to make a sitcom based on that premise, we would definitely watch it.
