– The Yankees’ Nathan Eovaldi has been getting drilled by lefthanded hitters (.371/.440/.528), while the Athletics’ Josh Reddick (.353/.425/.622, 7 HR) and Stephen Vogt (.324/.415/.630, 9 HR) have been drilling righties. You know what to do.
– The Brewers’ Kyle Lohse has allowed 11 home runs (seven to RHH), so load up on D-backs in Milwaukee. Paul Goldschmidt is obvious if you can afford him, but we also like Mark Trumbo, A.J. Pollock and sleeper Yasmany Tomas. Meanwhile, the D-backs’ Jeremy Hellickson has been generous to lefties (.357/.427/.607), so Adam Lind (7 HR, 9 2B vs. RHP) is on our radar. This could be a slugfest at Miller Park.
– The Rays’ Evan Longoria has been much better against lefties this year (.371/.500/.571) and draws Wei-Yin Chen in Baltimore. Deep sleeper: Logan Forsythe is 6-for-17 (.353) with two homers and a double against Chen and he has a .973 OPS against southpaws this season.
– The Marlins’ Giancarlo Stanton is 11-for-27 (.407) with three homers off the Mets’ Jon Niese.
– You know the drill with Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes, who’s hitting .364/.397/.610 against righthanders. He’s facing Rays RHP Erasmo Ramirez, one of the worst starters in the league.
– Can’t go wrong with the Cardinals’ Kolten Wong and Matt Carpenter against Dodgers RHP Carlos Frias, who’s allowing a .386/.438/.545 line against lefthanded hitters.
– The Royals’ Lorenzo Cain (.375/.444/.571 vs. LHP) and Salvador Perez (.320/.320/.540) both get upgrades with the Cubs switching to LHP Tsuyoshi Wada.
– The Reds’ Todd Frazier (.979 OPS vs. LHP), Zack Cozart (1.003) and Marlon Byrd (1.041) are all in play against Nats lefty Gio Gonzalez. Note that Jay Bruce is actually hitting .293/.333/.585 with six extra-base hits against lefties this year, so he could be a cheap, contrarian play with big upside in tourneys.
– The Astros’ Jose Altuve (.407/.484/.537 vs. LHP) and George Springer (.543 SLG) are always great options against lefties, and White Sox southpaw Jose Quintana is up next.
– Stick with Giants 1B Brandon Belt (.328/.397/.598, 6 HR vs. RHPs) against unproven Braves RHP Williams Perez.
– Braves OF Cameron Maybin is just 4-for-24 (.167) with eight strikeouts against the resurgent Tim Lincecum.
– Deep sleeper: We’re going back to the Indians’ Ryan Raburn (.349/.408/.603 vs. LHP) against Mariners LHP Roenis Elias.
– Very deep sleeper: Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is 17-for-40 (.425) against lefthanders and faces Rockies LHP Jorge De La Rosa.
