NHL Three Stars: Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane crush Ducks in Game 6 win
No. 1 Star: Duncan Keith, Chicago Blackhawks
The star blueliner of the Blackhawks wrecked the Ducks with three assists in a 5-2 Game 6 win over Anaheim. He controlled the speed and tempo of the play during his 28:35 of ice-time. First, check out this absurd ‘save’ in the third period. Also, just look at this pass to Marian Hossa. If Chicago wins the Stanley Cup, dude deserves some Conn Smythe love.
No. 2 Star, Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks
Scored a goal and added an assist for Chicago in the win. Behold his below score, which was a typical highly-skilled Kane move. He made Matt Beleskey look way worse than he actually is, but still embarrassed him.
No. 3. Star: Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks
Stopped 30 of 32 Anaheim shots on goal. He wasn’t exactly spectacular, but when the score was 3-2 in the third period, he gave Chicago the saves it needed to hold on for the win.
Honorable Mention: Chicago forward Brandon Saad scored a goal … Pesky Hawks forward Andrew Shaw scored two goals … Blackhawks forward Andrew Desjardins notched two assists … Chicago defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson was a plus-4 … Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa scored a goal … Anaheim forward Patrick Maroon scored a goal.
Did You Know?: Both Conference Finals will have a Game 7 for the second time since 1967-68. Though conference names and numbers have changed quite a few times since then. The other time was 2000.
Dishonorable Mention: Anaheim’s Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, Francois Beauchemin and Maroon were each a minus-3. Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen has allowed 13 goals his last three games. He stopped 18 of 22 Chicago shots on goal in Game 6 the loss.
